Lessons & Readings

How do we hear and discern the voice and presence of God among us? As Episcopalians scripture (biblical texts), tradition (learning from the history of the church) and reason/experience (our own learning and reflection) are what some have called ‘the three legged stool of Anglicanism’, meaning the three interconnected things vital to hearing and discerning God most faithfully.

The links you find below offer an intentional cycle of readings which saves us from reading only those passages we like or agree with.  In this cycle we hear a wide breadth of experience from those who have gone before us and which both ‘comfort the afflicted’ and ‘afflict the comfortable’.
