The Rev. Milly Morrow has been with the Cathedral since August 2011 and is Associate Dean, Canon for Pastoral Care and Mission. Rev. Morrow is charged with providing for and overseeing the pastoral care of our members in times of need, including working with our lay pastoral care committee. Milly is also responsible for supporting and engaging the church in mission opportunities and creating relationships across barriers in the local and wider community. Her call is to equip the Saints and support the congregation of All Souls in living out our baptismal covenant to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to strive for justice and peace among all people.
Milly is a life long Episcopalian and is the founder and missioner for the new church plant Kairos West Community Center in West Asheville, current president of the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Western North Carolina and Advisory Board member of the College of Social Work at Warren Wilson College. Milly is a proud mom and in a happy ecumenical marriage to a Presbyterian Pastor.
Before ordination Milly served as community educator, advocate and counselor for several non-profits working with individuals, families and groups. She specialized in direct service working with survivors of violent crime and in the areas of economic justice and community capacity building. Throughout her work she has maintained a focus on decreasing violence (both institutional and personal), uprooting institutional racism and building the capacity of systems to thrive. Milly earned a Masters in Social Work from UT Knoxville and a Masters of Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School.
